MEET THE FACULTY & GUEST ARTISTS
Theodore Arm • Violin
Audiences throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Japan
have responded with warmth and excitement to the artistry
of violinist Theodore Arm. He is a frequent soloist, recitalist
and chamber music performer and has been a guest artist
with such well-known organizations as The Chamber Music
Society of Lincoln Center, the Group for Contemporary Music,
New York's Festival Chamber Players and the Boston Chamber
Music Society. Mr. Arm has been a member of the highly acclaimed
chamber group TASHI since 1976. He has had works written
for him, including a chamber violin concerto by Gabriela
Frank that he performed at Carnegie Hall this past November.
Mr. Arm has been a regular featured artist at Chamber Music
Northwest in Portland, Oregon, the Sarasota Music Festival,
the American String Project in Seattle, Music from Angel
Fire, and has taught and performed at the Kneisel Hall Chamber
Music School in Blue Hill, Maine. He has recorded for RCA,
Delos, Musical Heritage Society and ECM. Mr. Arm is a Professor
of Violin at the University of Connecticut. He holds a Doctorate
in Performance from The Juilliard School, where he studied
with Christine Dethier and Joseph Fuchs.
