SCHEDULE.
Beginning on June 24th and ending on August 3rd the typical students weekly schedule includes four hours of daily individual practice, six hours of chamber music rehearsal, two hours of chamber music coaching, one private lesson and one studio class. Students participate in master classes and workshops given by faculty and guest artists nearly everyday.

There are also many unscheduled learning opportunities. It is not unusual to hear impromptu late-night reading groups or extra rehearsals. The relaxed, communal atmosphere means that faculty and students often eat and socialize together, sharing insight, experience and advice.

What sets the Killington Music Festival apart are the numerous student performance opportunities, concerts at Killington and the surrounding region and master classes.

ENSEMBLES TAKE NOTE.
Killington Music Festival welcomes the application of pre-formed ensembles who wish to spend a summer intensely focused on their ensemble's musical development. Accepted students will work exclusively with their pre-formed group, and will receive regular coachings with KMF's faculty, members of the Boston Trio, and visiting guest artists and ensembles. Performance opportunities include the student concerts at KMF and run-out concerts around Central Vermont. Other opportunities include open rehearsals with the Boston Trio and faculty performances. Each group's course of study will be designed in consultation with the ensemble and Artistic Director Heng-Jin Park. Preference for admission is given to string quartets, piano trios and piano quartets, though ensembles of other instrumentations may be accepted on a space available basis. Students must fill out individual applications and submit a group recording.

STUDENT LIFE.
Festival participants include high school, college and graduate students and young professionals. Housing is in a cluster of inns located within a three-minute walk of each other.

The inns, which are part of the greater Killington resort area, feature swimming pools and other facilities. While the practice and study schedule is rigorous, the Festival staff also organizes a wide variety of recreational activities including hikes, informal team sports, shopping trips and movie outings.

Unfortunately not all students can be guaranteed a roommate. If you have a roommate preference, be sure to state this on your application.

DATES & ADMISSION INFORMATION. All prospective students must complete an application form and mail it with a non-refundable application fee of $75 by March 1, 2012. Applications received after that date will be considered on a space-available basis with a fee of $85.

Applicants must submit an audition tape containing 15-20 minutes of playing time and a letter of recommendation from their major teacher.

The Killington Music Festival reserves the right to expel any student for violations of KMF's policy, city ordinances or state law without refunding any fees paid.
